EVANGELISM COMMITTEE INVITE A FRIEND PROJECT

2009 VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

This year's VBS is scheduled for the week of July 20 - 24 from 4:00 PM to 7 PM at the parish hall.  This year's theme will be Son Rock Kids Camp.

Parents, please mark this date and plan to have your children attend.  More information will be available after Easter.  Adults which have an interest in being a part of the staff need to contact Sabrina for a background check and to attend the manditory Sexual Abuse Prevention Training.

REFRESHMENTS

A new refreshment sign up list is available in the parish hall along with a section titled "hospitality".  Please sign up to contribute either the food or to help clean up following the refreshment time.

FLOWER / OIL LIST

The 2009 sign up list for flowers and/or oil is available in the parish library.  Please consider providing or contributing flowers and oil in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a special event.

CHRISTMAS CARDS & SHOE BOXES

Don't throw away your old Christmas cards and shoe boxes!  Next Christmas the Sunday School children will use them for crafts and also participate again in Operation Christmas Child.  You can bring the boxes and cards to church to be sotred in the Sunday School room.

NATIONAL TITHE

Each year our parish pays a national assessment of $30 per member, 18 years or older, which are baptized and confirmed.  Please contribute towards this assessment in addition to your regular tithe sometime between now and February 25th (Ash Wednesday) so that our general funds are not used to pay your obligation.  Special envelopes were distributed at the Parish Annual Meeting.

In addition, the parish needs your help to bring us current with the Diocesan Tithe.  This is our Christian obligation to the greater Church and we need your help.  Please prayerfully consider a donation beyond your usual pledge to support the ministry of the Diocese of the West.

Parish members should have received their envelope boxes.  Additional boxes are available in the parish hall.

ANNE BROTHERS MEMORIAL GARDEN

Planning is now underway for the Anne Brothers Memorial Garden.  Anne was the first Warden of St. Columba's and a champion of the orthodox Anglican faith.  The garden, which is located across from the Chapel, will feature an outdoor baptismal font, benches for prayer and appropriate plants.  We need help with this project!  We are currently planning a workday to make this garden a reality.   Please see Anne Liddlow for more information.

St. Columba's prays for Bishop Williams and our Diocese daily!  May God continue to bless his ministry!
