In response to the horrific situation in Haiti as a result of the recent earthquake, please make it your privilege and responsibility to support an aid effort to that country. Members of the ACA can direct their checks to Gil Miller, Diocesan Treasurer, indicating 'Support for Haiti'. We will appreciate every gift, no matter how large or small. Thank you.

Pope Benedict Creates Structure for Traditional Anglicans!
The Vatican has created a structure to receive Anglican Catholics into full communion with the Holy See. This structure is clearly the work of the Holy Spirit and comes as the result of years of dialog between the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC) and the Holy See. The clergy and faithful of St. Columba's give thanks and praise to God and look forward to the time when we can answer Christ's priestly prayer that we "may be one". For more information please click on this link to the Catholic News Agency.

PANCAKE DAY FEAST!
Regardless whether you call it Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras, Carnival, Fat Tuesday, or Pancake Day, we will celebrate the day before Ash Wednesday with a pancake supper in the parish hall at 6 PM. We need cooks and donations of food items for the feast. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 16th at 6 PM and all are welcome!
ASH WEDNESDAY MASSES
Ash Wednesday Masses including the imposition of ashes are at Noon and at 7 PM. Ash Wednesday is a holy day of obligation and a strict day of fasting and abstinence.
STATIONS OF THE CROSS
Starting on Friday, Feb. 19th (the Friday following Ash Wednesday) we will walk the Stations of the Cross. There is a soup supper at 6 PM in the parish hall followed at 7 PM with the Stations of the Cross in the chapel. The Stations are a powerful meditation on the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ. All are welcome!
REFRESHMENT LIST
The February - March list still has slots available. Please consider taking a Sunday to bring refreshments.
YOUTH GROUP
St. Columba's parish now has a new Youth Minister! Subdeacon Charles Bluto has been named by the Rector as the Youth Minister for the parish. He will work closely with Canon Bower to develop a more consistent Junior and Senior High School youth program including weekly meetings and monthly outings.
ALTAR GUILD
There is much "holy housework" to be done at the parish. There is a list of duties in the parish hall. Please sign up today to make sure that all of the areas and time periods are covered.
NATIONAL TITHE
Our parish pays an assessment to the National Church of $40 per member (18 years or older, baptized and confirmed). Please contribute toward this in addition to your regular tithe sometime between now and Ash Wednesday so that our general funds are not used to pay your portion. Please mark your check or envelope "National Tithe".
SISTERHOOD MEETING
February's prayer meeting will be at Kathie Von During's home on Feb. 20th at 9 AM. All ladies are invited.
